It's still very much winter at the Nordic Center and the trails are holding snow really well. Come up and spend a couple hours with us. Snow is the forecast, so get it while it lasts.
Beautiful conditions for skiing.
The skiing is just so good. Get up here. Cold in the morning and warms up in the middle of the day. Wax recommendations are difficult because the sun can really change things fast, but it's Blue to Purple range.
The skiing is so nice!

Which wax?
For the last few days, the clear skies and strong sunshine are creating conditions which make wax decisions depend on when you're skiing. If you're skiing in the morning when it is cold, it's a Blue time of day. But by 2 o'clock in the afternoon the conditions are verging on Pink.

Trail update & more snow forecast this weekend!
Temperatures have been warm at the Durango Nordic Center the last two days. We have everything open except Boyce Lake and the Lower Bench.
Despite warm temperatures, the skiing is good and people are happy. More snow could help (maybe get Boyce open) and it's in the forecast for this weekend with 5 - 10" being discussed for the Purgatory area through Sunday.
