The Masters Program is for adults with intermediate to advanced Nordic skiing experience. It is designed to improve physical fitness and technique, connect participants with a group of fellow skiing enthusiasts, and prepare athletes to compete in a marathon ski race.
Participants will attend one practice a week with a highly qualified coach who will provide focused technique instruction in both classic and freestyle disciplines. These sessions will not be high-intensity and are appropriate for intermediate and advanced skiers.
Participants will be provided with a ten-week training plan leading up to the Pine Needle Langlauf. The training plan will be written with the 50k skate Langlauf in mind; however, don't let that intimidate you! The Langlauf offers something for everyone - from 2 k to 50 k - with team or individual options. The training plan will also be suitable for those planning to participate in the entire Southwest Nordic Race Series. As an added bonus, participants will receive high end wax support at the Pine Needle Langlauf from Durango Nordic Ski Club's Head Coach, Evan Elliott.
The Masters Program fee includes a season pass to the Nordic Center.
