The Masters Program is for adults with intermediate to advanced Nordic skiing experience. It is designed to improve physical fitness and technique, connect participants with a group of fellow skiing enthusiasts, and prepare athletes to compete in a marathon ski race.
Participants will attend one practice a week with a highly qualified coach who will provide focused technique instruction in both classic and freestyle disciplines. These sessions will not be high-intensity and are appropriate for intermediate and advanced skiers.
Participants will also be provided with a ten-week training plan developed by Tad Elliott leading up to Crested Butte’s Alley Loop race on February 3rd. Tad's training plan will be written with the Alley Loop's signature race - the 42 k skate - in mind; however, don't let that intimidate you! The Alley Loop offers something for everyone - from 1 k to 42 k - in both classic and freestyle techniques. The training plan will also be suitable for those planning to participate in the Pine Needle Langlauf.
The Head Coach of Durango Nordic, Evan Elliott, will accompany the adult program to the Alley Loop and provide high end wax and race support to all competitors.
The Masters Program fee includes a season pass to the Nordic Center.
