Congratulations to all on a great weekend of racing at Eldora!  In the classic mass start race on Friday, Lars skied away from the field to take the win in the 10k OJ/J1 field.  Elena also had a fantastic race with a second place finish in the J1/OJ women's 10k.  In the J2 field, Gino perfectly timed his finishing sprint and lunge to steal the win in the 5k classic.  On Saturday, the DNSC race of the weekend was the J3 girls where Amy, Lilly, and Stephanie swept the podium in that order.  The racing weekend ended with the naming of the Rocky Mtn Junior National Team.  In the beginning of March, DNSC will send 11 skiers to Truckee, CA to compete against the top juniors from around the country in the 2009 US Junior Nationals.  Wish them all the best of luck!

Back in sunny Durango!!  Yesterdays Coke race was a great success (with some minor timing issues in excel issues) with stand out performances by Stephanie Ogier, Rachel Hampton, Cully Brown, Evan Elliott, and coach Kricket Lewis.  Great job everyone!!  I also wanted to let everyone know that we have a new Blog up and running on the web.  Please be sure to check it for race recaps and comments from some of our older skiers, starting with US Nationals up in Alaska.

1/05/2009 -

Congratulations to Alicia, Paige, Elena, Rogan, and Lars for great races today!  With temps reaching a high of close to 0, the skiers showed outstanding effort and tolerance for the conditions.  Today was the first race the organizers were able to start up here in Alaska due to the unseasonable cold temps this week.  Tomorrow and Wednesday will be packed full of distance and sprint classic races.  Good luck to our skier over the next two days!  Today's results can be found on Results page.

1/03/2009  -

Today DNSC skiers put their training to the test as they pinned on numbers for a classic time trial at the nordic center.  The waxing conditions were tough and so was the competition!  Be sure to check out the full results listed on our Training page.  Unfortunately the races up here in Alaska were cancelled today due to cold temps.  Our skiers are chomping at the bit, so we hope it warms up enough to get the race started tomorrow .  Check out www.uscrosscountrychampionships.org for the most up-to-date information on US Nationals.
